RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks to support the internal team:

Ensure that the database environments required for development are available on time and of the proper quality whether on-prem or cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Keep the database servers up to date and if it needed install the critical patches
Ensure that the databases, database resources and the associated modules are continuously available and can be restored in case of an error
Create user accounts and set permissions if it is required
Proactively search for issues
Automate toil
Keep in contact with colleagues

Project related tasks:

Support the environments of data warehouses, databases, visualizations, developed by Hiflylabs, either in cloud or on-prem
You will be involved in the infrastructural support of running and starting projects, database installations and configuration of database environments
You will coordinate performance
Regularly participate in the preparation of Proactive Maintenance
Documentation of Installed systems, services

REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of experience as a database and or DWH administrator
MSSQL is a must
Familiar with PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL databases
Knowledge and use of SQL/TSQL language
Deep understanding of ETL, scheduling
Understanding of High Availability solutions
Analytical thinking is fundamental to you

Databricks Platform Administrator

Manage Databricks system configurations (including job scheduling, secrets and cluster policies)
Ensure the right performance of the Databricks platform
Ensure the customer satisfaction by coordinating the resources of the Databricks Platform DevOps Engineer
Improve the Databricks platform (integration, new features, additional services)
Discuss the ideal and optimal usage of the Databricks platform with customers
Provide L2 support and consult with L3 support if necessary
Manage Azure storage and network configuration

Senior Data Analyst

What will you do?

You will talk to the business side of clients, and help them discover what is or would be possible with their data, model their business with numbers, define technical requirements, work alongside them making sense of their figures, and take part in testing data from a business perspective.
You will either be the lead on one or two projects at a time, or join a senior technical colleague – depending on the needs of the given client.
We expect you to be a technically aware Data Analyst at heart: thrive to derive business value from existing data and look for opportunities to line up more data for more business value. Your line manager is the Head of Analytics Engineering team with whom you usually touch bases a couple times a week.

Typical tasks include:

Understand the client’s business model, their current issues, and how they map their business to data. Help them make sense of and verify their data and assumptions.
Create a roadmap for the client and lead them along. Devise and/or revise data analytics practices for the specific situation to help the client to advance towards their business goals.
Define work for the technical Analytics Engineers.
Make sure that the delivered solution is both meaningful as well as correct.

Data Engineer (Azure - Databricks)

Hiflylabs is a leading Data Consultancy Agency competency center in Europe with a staff of over 200 experts. About the Job/What will you do?

At Hiflylabs we are looking to expand our Data Platform team. This team works with a wide range of clients, not only Hungarian clients, but also an increasing number of international clients.

We're currently looking for a new member to join our team as we continue to grow, working directly with one of our banking clients. Join our team and work on cutting-edge migration projects and build new cloud platforms. You will work with both technical and business-oriented colleagues, both at Hiflylabs and on the client side. Main Tasks

Participate in our data projects building data pipelines, migrate ETL processes from on-premise data warehouses
Design and build data pipelines mostly on Azure and/or Databricks platform

3+ years of experience in Data Engineering
Experience with Azure or Databricks data stack, and hands-on experience with batch processing, storing, loading, and transforming structured datasets

Main Tasks

Design and implement Data Pipelines in Snowflake
Develop ingestion pipelines from various sources (via Snowpipe and other means)
Create data transformations with SQL, Python, PaaS and 3rd party tools (e.g. dbt)
Optimize existing pipelines and transformations for cost, load time, and maintainability
Automate data ingestion and transformation (often with Airflow or similar tools)
Help business users to formulate their needs on the one hand and to make the most of the data platform on the other hand.

Requirements

Working experience with and in-depth knowledge of Snowflake and its family of tools, preferably over multiple projects. As an orientation, you are likely to have 2+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience.
Data transformation background: sound conceptual understanding and practical experience of data modeling and ETL processing, including extensive knowledge of SQL, including Snowflake’s SQL flavor. As an orientation, you are likely to have 4+ intensive years in the field.
At least some experience in cloud data management in AWS or GCP data stack components (primarily batch data management, storage, loading, transformation of structured data, Data Lake storage and management tools).
Team player with ability and explicit willingness to cooperate with other team members, including non-technical business stakeholders in moving the project forward. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of big data for top Fortune 500 companies. This senior customer-facing position requires extensive expertise in Apache Spark and a broad range of experience in big data solution architecture.

Cooperating with colleagues form different areas, like data platform developers, data analysts, consultants, depending on the content of the project and the composition of the project team
Creating the visualization data model behind the dashboard as needed
Supporting the team in relation to the development of the professional knowledge base

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO APPLY TO THIS ROLE?

2-4 years of relevant professional experience
Advanced knowledge of PowerBI
Experience in data extraction and/or processing (knowledge of SQL, pandas)
Good problem solving and communication skills
Proactivity
Analytical, numerical skills and precision, analysis and control of complex topics
Client management skills (You can handle professional discussions about the content of dashboards)
Good prioritizing skills
Fluent in both, written and spoken English
Flexibility and humour
Professional qualification (Business / Economics, Engineering, Statistics or IT)

WHAT IS GOOD TO HAVE?

Advanced knowledge of Tableau or other tools
Knowledge of Looker
Python / R skills
Business consultant (Big4 or top-tier consultants) or large company CxO support background
Experience in any of the following sectors: banking and finance, telecommunications, FMCG, media, energy and oil industry, manufacturing, healthcare and medicine, tourism, transport, logistics
